iSi North America, the manufacturer of the “Twist ‘n Sparkle” home beverage carbonation system (Model# 1005BJ), has identified a potential safety issue with the product. Please stop using this product immediately.  In the United States, there are reports of eight incidents, including four minor injuries, in which the bottle containing the beverage bursts during operation. BJ’s has been advised that with repeated use, certain clear plastic bottles can develop micro-cracks around the four grooves at the base of the bottle. Under pressure, the bottles can burst which would release plastic fragments with sharp edges, as well as other components of the product. These fragments could pose a laceration hazard to consumers.

While the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has not issued a recall notice for this product, out of an abundance of caution, safety and concern for our Members, we ask that you immediately stop using the “Twist ‘n Sparkle” home beverage carbonation system. If you purchased the item from BJ's, please return it to any club for a full refund. Please also return the “Twist ´n Sparkle” branded CO2 gas chargers (Model #ISICO240) which were marketed in conjunction with the system and activate the device, in order to further ensure that the appliances are not used.
