Olde Thompson, Inc. Has Initiated A Voluntary Recall Of The Earth’s Pride Organic Oregano

Earth’s Pride Organic Oregano – recall Q&A

What is being recalled? Earth’s Pride Organic Oregano 2.2oz (SKU 029094) lot codes 060367, 060692, 061252, and 061864 are affected by the recall -- you can find the lot code on the bottom of the jar of Oregano.  No other lot codes of this product are affected.

Why is it being recalled? It is being recalled out of an abundance of caution because of possible contamination by Salmonella.

When were the affected products purchased? Between the dates of January 1, 2013 – July 10, 2013. 

What should I do if I have the affected product?  If you have the product, do not eat it.  Please discontinue use and discard the remaining products; please do not return the product to the Club.  For a full refund, you may visit the Member Services Desk at your local BJ’s Club where you purchased the Earth’s Pride Organic Oregano.  If you have your receipt, please bring it with you; if you do not have your receipt, a BJ’s team member can look it up for you to issue the refund.

What is Salmonella?  Salmonella is a bacterium known to cause illness.  The most common symptoms of Salmonella are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever, which develop within 8 to 72 hours after eating contaminated food.  The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days and most people recover without treatment.  However, salmonellosis can be severe or even life-threatening for infants, older people, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems.  Consumers who believe they may have contracted a Salmonella infection should contact their healthcare provider.

I consumed this product.  What should I do?  If you have health concerns, please consult your physician.
