Fieldbrook Farms/Wellsley Farms Ice Cream Bar Recall

Fieldbrook Foods Corporation (“Fieldbrook”) initiated a voluntary recall involving orange cream bars and chocolate coated vanilla ice cream bars (“Products”) manufactured at its Dunkirk, NY plant (Plant Code 362677).  Fieldbrook manufactures the Products for many different retailers, including BJ’s Wholesale Club (“BJ’s”) under BJ’s own brand, Wellsley Farms. The affected Product at BJ’s is the Wellsley Farms 30 ct. Ice Cream Variety Pack, with Best Before Dates between January 1st, 2018 and December 1st, 2018.

The Products are being recalled due to the possibility that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short- term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

The potential for contamination was noted after routine industry testing revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in a few ice cream bar samples of many tested.

If you have the Wellsley Farms 30 ct. Ice Cream Variety Pack, with Plant Code 362677, and Best Before Dates between January 1st, 2018 and December 1st, 2018 in your freezer, please do not consume them & throw away the product. Please contact Fieldbrook Foods Corporation Customer Service at 1-800-333-0805 x2270 (24 hours/day) for more information and to get a refund. Please do not return the product to BJ’s Clubs.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.  Fieldbrook takes the satisfaction of its customers and their families seriously and we apologize for any inconvenience.
