BJ's Adopt-A-School

Supporting Teachers and Students in Our Communities

Launched in 1996, BJ’s Adopt-A-School Program has provided teachers at thousands of public and charter elementary schools with more than $2 million in support to help them meet their curriculum objectives.

Now we’re collaborating with to give teachers in our “adopted” schools the supplies they need to create innovative lesson plans.

How BJ’s Adopt-A-School Program Helps Schools

Every participating school gets:

  1. A one-time $500 credit provided by a grant from BJ’s Charitable Foundation.® Teachers can use this credit to get materials for classroom projects.
  2. A complimentary BJ’s Business Membership they can use to save on high-quality supplies in-Club and on
  3. A reading library of 100 age-appropriate books provided through a partnership with Kellogg’s.

Help Teachers and Students Succeed — It’s Easy! lets you — as well as civic organizations, churches and businesses big and small — help public school teachers across America get the books, art supplies, software and other supplies they need for classroom learning projects.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Teachers post descriptions of their projects with lists of the materials they’ll need.
  2. You visit to search for local teachers’ projects or browse entries from across the nation.
  3. When you find a project you want to support, enter a donation amount. Every little bit helps!
  4. Once a project reaches its funding goal, the classroom will receive the requested materials.
  5. You’ll get a letter from the teacher, plus project photos so you can see your giving in action.
