Heat the oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium heat. Pat the pickle spears dry with paper towels

In a small bowl, stir together the breadcrumbs, cayenne pepper, black pepper and garlic powder

Dip spears into the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat for extra crunch

Fry pickles in the hot oil until golden brown (1 - 2 min.), turning once

Transfer the pickles to paper towels to drain. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce
