P&G Voluntarily Recalls Limited Quantity of Dry Pet Food Due to Possible Health Risk

BJ’s Wholesale Club was recently informed by P&G, the manufacturer of Iams, that they have initiated a voluntary recall of certain lots of their dry pet food, due to the possibility of contamination with salmonella.

Of the dry pet food being recalled by P&G, BJ’s only carries two of the products, which were sold at the club between July 5, 2013 and August 15, 2013:

•    Iams Original Dry Cat Food (17.4 lbs.)

•    Iams Indoor Weight & Hairball Control (16 lbs.)

See the P&G press release for further details, including how to identify the recalled product.

People who purchased the recalled product should immediately discontinue use and discard the remaining pet food and container, as instructed in the P&G press release.   Please do not return the product to BJ’s.

For a full refund, Members should visit the Member Services Desk at their local BJ’s.   If a Member has his/her receipt, he/she should bring it.  If they don't have a receipt, the Club can look up the purchase and issue the refund.  To gather further details, please contact P&G toll-free at 800-208-0172 (Monday – Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM ET), or via website at www.iams.com.
