Swagway announces recall of Swagway Scooters
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Swagway LLC on July 6, 2016 announced a voluntary recall of the Swagway X1 Hands-Free Smart Board Self- Balancing Scooter. BJ’s sold some of the affected products between September 2015 - February 2016. These battery packs are being recalled due to the possibility that the affected battery packs can overheat, and may pose a burn or fire hazard. Swagway LLC is offering a retrofit or credit for our members.
To determine if your battery is affected, please visit https://swagway.com/productrecall or contact Swagway LLC at 1-844-299-0625 any day from 8am – 6:30pm Eastern Standard Time.
If your scooter is subject to Swagway’s recall/replacement program, please stop using it immediately. There is the risk that the battery packs in the self-balancing scooters, known as hoverboards, might overheat, start to smoke or catch fire, officials said. There is also a possibility of explosions that cause burns and property damage.
If you have additional questions about the recall please visit https://swagway.com/productrecall or contact Swagway LLC at 1-844-299-0625 any day from 8am – 6:30pm Eastern Standard Time.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. BJ’s takes the safety of its Members and their families seriously, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
