Directions
1
Preheat oven to 350°, grease a 9" x 13" baking dish. Place pecans in the baking dish in a single layer and set aside
2
Place the butter into a small sauce pot over medium heat, let butter melt and start to bubble, about 2 min
3
Add the flour and whisk to combine, cook for 2 min. (it will be a tan color)
4
Slowly add in the water, whisking continuously; cook an additional 2 min. Continue to whisk so the bottom doesn’t burn
5
Add the maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and salt. Stir and cook until the brown sugar is melted, about 30 seconds. Take off the heat and let cool 5 min
6
Break the eggs into a medium-size bowl. Add about 1 Tbsp. of the hot maple syrup mixture into the eggs while whisking continuously. Repeat 5 more times to temper in the eggs
7
Add the remaining syrup mixture and stir to combine. Pour over the pecans
8
Dump the brownie mix over the pecan filling and smooth it out into an even layer. Pour melted butter over the top, make sure all of the brownie mixes are moistened
