Maple Bacon Brittle

Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside

Melt butter in a 2-qt. saucepan with a heavy bottom over medium heat

Stir in the brown sugar and maple syrup. Bring to a rolling boil and cook until mixture registers 300° on a candy thermometer,* 10 to 15 min

Remove pan from heat, stir in the baking powder and bacon bits. Immediately pour hot mixture onto prepared baking sheet

Use a rubber spatula sprayed with cooking spray to spread the mixture until it’s about 1/4" thick

Cool on a wire rack until hard, about 30 to 45 min. (Depending on room temperature.)

Break into small pieces. Store in a dry location in an airtight container
