In 1988, a few friends got together and decided they just couldn't stomach plain ol' restaurants that offered nothing more than ho-hum food and mediocre service. They wanted something different, something with ties to the community and the type of food that makes people sit up and take notice. And they wanted a restaurant where genuine Southern hospitality was the norm, rather than the exception. And so Fatz was born. While the first restaurant wasn't exactly fancy - it was in a converted roadside peach shed - it had what mattered most: great service, great food and great prices. Today, Fatz still offers folks Southern favorites at restaurants run by their friends and neighbors.
