Kingsford Review
I feel like I won the sweepstakes already when I purchased this 2 pack of Kingsford Professional Briquettes! They are long lasting and burn slow and are just right for cooking anything on the grill, my favorite pasttime. This is quite the deal, compared to coals sold in other locations, the cost is ...

Burn really hot.
These burn much hotter than traditional Kingsford. You have to reduce the amount of coals to get correct heat. (Low and slow.) Then you're cooking indirect heat. Hard to keep grill at 300-325. Likes to run at 500 degrees with minimal coals. Might be great for a huge competition type grill. To...
Customers say
Overall sentiment is mostly positive, with reviewers consistently praising hot, even, long-lasting burns that work well for searing, smoking, and everyday charcoal grilling. The main drawbacks are that it can run hotter than some users expect (making low-and-slow setups harder) and that a few people feel it’s overpriced or no different from regular briquettes.

Very smoky toxic charcoal after it was lit
Verified Buyer
I'm a grill person who has used Kingsford coals over the past 20 years. I hate to say this, but I will not be using this charcoal ever again. Over the past year, I have noticed that when using the Kingsford charcoal that I bought from BJ's, that the coals gave off excessive smoke well after the coals were lit. This smoke is extremely toxic, and we have been required to move inside until the coals finally burn off! I beginning to think that the Kingsford coals sold lately by BJ's are old versions and I will not be buying anymore Kingsford charcoal from them again! Patrick

Must Have Charcoal
Verified Buyer
We used this charcoal to smoke two giant packages of chicken, that was also bought at BJ's. The charcoal is long burning, has great smoke flavor and is low ash.

Kingsford is ideal for smoking processes. It burns longer than most charcoals and gives a great smokey flavor.
Best charcoal we've used!
Verified Buyer
We have a Weber grill and have tried all sorts of briquettes and/or lump coal. This has been the most consistent burning with minimal leftover chunks. We never use lighter fluid and these burn best!
