Comments about Midea 50-Pint Cube Smart Dehumidifier with Pump

This unit seems to function ok, but the humidity reading is way off of readings with another hygrometer. I just have to set it by trial and error to do the proper amount of dehumidifying instead of setting it to a specific value. I am not using the pump, nor the tank and just have a hose going to the drain. If I had to empty the tank when, full, I would have returned this immediately. To me, it is a poor design to have to remove the dehumidifier unit (heavy), from the top of the tank to dump the tank. But using the drain hose is working fine. I still may return it due to the humidity reading offset, but at the great price from BJ's, I many just keep it.

We used it for 2 weeks and it worked very good. Then it made our rooms warm and started showing codes and faults. We returned it to the store and they refunded our purchase.

The dehumidifier works great on max mode. Took my house down from 65% humidity to 45-50% humidity in around 4 hours. The built in humidity meter does not work though. It sits around 35% constantly despite multiple independent hygrometers showing much much higher readings. This makes it where you cannot use set mode because it erroneously thinks the room is much dryer than it is. During this very humid summer in Alabama I have been running this unit on max mode 24 hours a day. If you want to save power and use set mode, you won't be able to.

This has greatly reduced the humidity, I live in the D/FW Texas area, in my home. Within the first week of using it, I noticed a considerable difference in the cooling ability of my AC system. The house feels a 100% cooler and feels great.

Had bought a 20 pint unit that did ok in a single room, but really struggled when set up for whole house. I put this 50 pint one in the laundry room and it keeps the house at about 52 to 55 % humidity, depending on the outside humidity. We're in a coastal area, so it seems to do fine with it. Started with it in the living room, but was just too noisy. Love the built-in pump, dumping the water manually was a daily pain.

I join the list of those who have reported humidity stuck at 30%. Sad thing is customer support at Midea said let it run for 24hrs. Some have purchased 3 units before any success. Yet fast dehumidifying.

This is a high quality dehumidifier for a great price.

This is our second Midea cube dehumidifier purchase. Works great, very quiet and has the added feature of pumping the water out from a small hose to a small drain since we don't have a sink in the basement. Highly recommend!

Awful product, horrible set up, tiny cord. Not sure what basement everyone else has where they have a billion plugs but 1.5 foot of cable is disgusting for a dehumidifier meant for basements. Returned almost as soon as possible.

My dehumidifier is running like a champ. I love the fact that I don't have to empty everyday because it pumps into the sink. Good purchase and great price.
