    great unit

If you are considering purchasing this AC, go ahead and get it! This unit is solid. Cools my office/wfh space that is at least a 10x15 room. Could be a tad larger, but it houses a server, poe switch and multiple PCs with multiple monitors, so you know it gets stuffy. Within a matter of minutes the r...

    Do not buy, terrible

Worst ac unit I have ever purchased. Horrible did not work from the start. The back of the ac looked like someone compressed the thin metal. I Had it installed and the unit sounded like it had rocks inside it. Upon inspection it was leaking water like the titanic and smelled like mold. Couldn't fig...

    Customers say

Overall sentiment is mostly positive, with many reviewers praising strong cooling performance, helpful features (app/eco/timer), and good value for the price. However, noise and some usability/design issues—like being too loud for bedrooms, temperature/remote inconsistency, and occasional drainage/quality problems—are recurring drawbacks.

    Midea 8K window AC

Comments about Midea Smart 8,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner

Lighter (38lbs) than the one I took out, so easier to install. Had purchased a 6K and an 8K for two separate rooms. The 6K is "adequate" but the 8K does a good job of cooling the room. Good enough that I bought a second one for another window. The 8K has a two year warranty which is better than some others. Too early to tell how long it will function, but have been told Midea has a good reputation.

    Does not power on.

Purchased 6 weeks ago,. Worked decent up until today. It will not power on. The green light shows on outlet. Unplugged it. Waited 5-15 minutes several times. Hit test then reset. Checked fuses and did a reset. Held down power and mode on remote. Took out batteries and replaced. Nothing on the unit powers on. It is junk.

Pretty easy to use. No set up at all. I like the LED button on the remote. It's pretty quiet and the thermostat seems to work pretty well. Also, my cat visits it every night. I have a one bedroom apartment with a living room and it keeps the whole place cool.

Window air conditioner with a real wallop. Replaced our older window air conditioner with this one, and noticed the difference immediately. Midea Smart is really good at keeping our living room and nearby dining room bearable during these summer months. Will probably try to buy another unit in the fall/winter for our kitchen.
