Very Firm, Solid Construction, Great Sleep!

What a great mattress! I recently upgraded from a full-sized (double) foam mattress after getting married and we both are joyfully surprised by the absolute quality of this mattress. It's taken a minute for me to get used to it--it's quite firm. Actually, it's considerably firmer than my old memo...ry foam mattress, and the extra support has come with about a week of sore back and hips as my body gets used to it. That's not a knock on the Serta mattress, but rather my older foam mattress. It's funny, right--the things we get used to? The lush quilted top of the mattress takes the edge off the firmness in a subtle, yet delightful way and each night I find myself appreciating it more--it's like a whisper of a hug that you just grow to love. The construction of the mattress is outstanding! Serta combines springs, foam, and gel memory foam in this mattress and right away you can see that it's sturdy and well-made. Once you lay down, you feel the quality. Like I said, it does take a few nights of getting used to--especially if you're coming from a foam mattress--but I sleep cooler and feel more support than I ever have. I generally sleep warm, and even on some of the hotter summer sleeps, I haven't woken up sweaty or feeling stifled from below as I used to with the foam mattress. I think this is why even at first when I was adjusting to the mattress, I still felt like I got a great night's sleep. Serta claims that the mattress resists the transfer of motion through the coils, which I was concerned about initially. And, I do notice the bounciness of the springs, but again, coming from foam that dampens out all movement, I am really impressed that this mattress doesn't feel springy and when my partner changes sides when sleeping--I hardly feel it. That's impressive. Overall, I'm blown away and I definitely recommend this mattress. As a back and side-sleeper, it provides a TON of support and now that I'm adjusted to it, I can't say I've ever had a better sleep. It's solidly constructed, and I appreciate that I stay cool on warmer nights. Give this a few nights sleep and you'll see what I mean, too.
