Bartlett pears have a signature sweet pear taste that is full of buttery citrus flavor. They carry a true pyriform "pear shape:" a rounded bell on the bottom half of the fruit, then a definitive shoulder with a smaller neck or stem end. The Bartlett pears start as a light brown color that will turn bright yellow as they ripen, which can happen while growing on the tree, or after they are picked and stored at room temperature. Pears have high levels of fiber and contain Vitamin C that help maintain a healthy immune system. They are fat free, sodium free, and cholesterol free. They are the perfect snacking pear to be taken whole on the go, or sliced up to be enjoyed with dips and peanut butters. These pears are also great for canning to create jams and cobblers.
