Details
Roederer Estate Brut is the flagship sparkling wine of Roederer Estate, the California property of Champagne Louis Roederer, founded in 1982 in the fog-shrouded hills of Anderson Valley. This cool-climate region, influenced by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, allows grapes to ripen slowly, building freshness, complexity, and varietal clarity. Roederer Estate remains one of the few sparkling producers in California to use only estate-grown fruit, cultivated with organic and biodynamic practices. The cuvee is composed of approximately 60% chardonnay and 40% pinot noir, with 10–15% oak-aged reserve wines blended in each year. The base wines are vinified from the first pressing only and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel to preserve precision and freshness. Malolactic fermentation is largely avoided to retain bright acidity and aging potential. The wine is aged a minimum of two years on lees, with a dosage of 8 g/L. The result is a sparkling wine that echoes champagne in its finesse and structure while offering the richness and vibrancy of California fruit. With each release, Roederer Estate Brut captures the essence of place and the legacy of its historic French roots.
