The combination seed, fertilizer, and soil improver can be used for growing a new lawn or overseeding an existing lawn in three steps: 1) prep the area 2) apply the seed, and 3) rake the seed into the soil. For best results, plant seed in the spring or fall when daily average soil temperatures are consistently between 55 degrees F and 70 degrees F, or air temperatures between 60 degrees F and 80 degrees F. Water daily or as needed to keep the soil moist for at least three weeks or until seedlings reach two inches in height. Scotts goes to great lengths to bring you the freshest seed available, incorporating everything from the packaging design to the product formula and the seed itself, so you can grow your own thick, beautiful lawn. For best results, always use fresh product. After opening, plant within the season.
