Wellsley Farms frozen sockeye salmon is harvested in the icy cold waters of the North Pacific. Best known for its “amazing†life-cycle, sockeye salmon are born in fresh water and spend their youth in cold water lakes and steams. They then migrates thousands of miles to the ocean where it spends most of its adult life. Sockeye makes for a “full-flavored†dining experience and tastes like a “wild†fish should. Sockeye is a very firm fleshed fish and stays firm after cooking. Simple cooking techniques work best so to showcase the natural flavor of a wild salmon.
