Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Soften the butter, and cream together the butter and sugar. Beat the egg in a separate bowl then add to the creamed butter sugar. Add the flour, baking soda and cardamom.

Using a Springform Cake pan, well oil/butter the bottoms and sides. Press the crust down flat against the bottom of the pan and up along the sides about 2 inches high.

Mix the filling ingredients thoroughly in a bowl and pour into the cake pan on top of the crust.

Drain and rinse the apple slices. Once drained place apples in a bowl and pour in cinnamon, toss till well coated.

Fan apples over top as pictured. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour.

Serve plain or with whipped cream, homemade vanilla sauce or a scoop of premium ice cream.
